Hearts for Rescue
Hearts For Rescue is a 100% volunteer run licensed rescue. There is absolutely no way Hearts For Rescue could be in existence without our volunteers. By clicking on the “Volunteer” tab we see you are interested in helping! Thanks for your interest! There are many ways a person can volunteer and help out. Not only are we staffed by volunteers, we run solely on donations and support we receive through our fundraising events. We need volunteers to do lots of different jobs, all the way from staffing a table at a fundraiser to actually fostering a dog waiting for its furever home. Below please find a partial listing of ways you may be able to help.
Fundraising: Helping with activities such as community awareness events, bake sales, yard sales, concerts, and other activities.
Photography: We have several volunteers that do their best to capture the animals at their best. If you are good with a camera we can use you too.
Pet sitting: All of our Foster Families could use a break from time to time. If you can’t foster full time please consider pet sitting for a brief time or possibly a weekend.
Transport: There are many times when a dog, for many different reasons, needs transported from one location to another. Sometimes, it could be as simple as helping a foster family get a dog to a vet visit, picking up from a foster and delivering to a potential adopter, or maybe a dog needs transport to a another rescue operation.
Fostering: All of our Foster Families are volunteers! They do it for the love of the animals! Interested in fostering? Simply message HFR through the contact page and request a fostering application. After filling out and returning your application, a home visit will be conducted. Upon completion of a successful visit, you are ready to foster any baby you choose at no cost to you! Vet care, kennels, food and anything else you could need will be provided by HFR. You have the luxury of fostering until an adoption occurs or we can set the baby up with another foster if for some reason, you are a short-term foster.
Advertising: Hanging fliers for events, taking to business to get sponsors. Calling the radio stations that will advertise for us for free. Calling and getting other rescue contacts when we need help with name number exactly what kind of dogs they will take. Who directly to talk to. Someone could make a calendar of events past and upcoming. So we can figure out the best ones to make yearly events
